The August Fire is in heavy mop-up this morning. Today 2 contract crews, one inmate crew, and other resources will continue working the perimeter. There are still some interior hot spots and crews will be working their way in to them today. The lines remain in place and look very secure.
The weather forecast for the coming week is very favorable, however we intend to manage this fire for the possibility of east winds developing in September. We will scale back night operations, but will have a day shift again tomorrow finish the mop-up work.
