Today we visited the landowner that sparked yesterday's recreational target shooting fire. It was a 50 caliber bullet fired at a steel plate target. A fragment of the bullet landed in dry grass about 15 feet from the target. The landowner watched the start from his scope. He then went down range with 2 extinguishers, but was unable to put it out. Our crews caught it at about 1.5 acres.
