An engine crew responded today to an abandoned campfire which had begun to spread to nearby stumps and debris. The situation was detected and reported early, and the crew members were able to respond quickly and extinguish the fire before it was allowed to spread any further.
As a reminder, regulated use is in effect--campfires are prohibited outside of designated areas with provided fire pits. Even in the designated areas, please make sure your fire is totally out before you leave. Drown, stir, drown.
