Fire Season for the Northwest Oregon Forest Protective Association -  Forest Grove, Tillamook, and Astoria Districts - was terminated at 01:00 on Tuesday, September 17, 2019.  This is the earliest exit since 1997. (In 1997 we terminated fire season on September 16.)

All Fire Season and Public Use Restrictions for all weather zones (NW1, NW2, and NW3) in this area are rescinded at that time. Beginning next Monday, all remaining district staff and offices will move to a Monday through Friday schedule from 0800 to 1700. The fire crew will be winterizing engines and equipment, completing yard maintenance, and helping prepare for fall burning programs.

We appreciate everyone’s partnership and cooperation throughout fire season.

As a reminder, burning permits are required for logging slash. For backyard and other burning, contact your local fire department burn line for burning information. While fire season is over, we do expect a few periods of dry east winds that will present some fire hazards. Always be mindful of the weather, monitor your burns, and extinguish them in compliance with burning regulations and burn plans.

Thank you!
