08.21.2023 - EVENING UPDATE: Ball Bearing Hill Fire

Fire crews and air resources worked on the Ball Bearing Hill Fire throughout the day successfully stopping progression of the fire at an estimated 4 acres.  

Crews will continue to work overnight into Tuesday, August 22 to contain and mop-up this fire.

All indications are that this fire was human caused.  Anyone with information about the cause of the fire or about people engaging in recreation activities in the Ball Bearing Hill area off of High Heaven Road in the 48 hours leading up to the report of fire are encouraged to call the Oregon Department of Forestry at 503.357.2191

Steep terrain was a challenge on the Ball Bearing Hill Fire.
