Ball Bearing Hill Fire
Crews are still working the fire footprint to further strengthen the fire line and mop up hot spots. No further growth of this fire is anticipated.
This will be the final update on the Ball Bearing Hill Fire unless any significant changes occur.
Keasey Road Fire
At approximately 7:30 PM on Monday, August 21st ODF and Vernonia fire crews responded to a report of fire on Keasey Road. The fire burned uphill from the road along a steep bank. Level 3 and Level 2 evacuation notices were delivered to nearby homes.
Fire progression was stopped by 10:00 PM. Crews remained on scene overnight securing the fire line.
All evacuations were reduced to Level 1 by the morning of Tuesday, August 22, 2023.
Crews continue to work on mop up. Infrared cameras were used to grid the fire and identify any remaining areas of heat.
