At around 1530 this afternoon, Department of Forestry, along with Rural Fire Departments, responded to a fire in a slash unit in the area of Round Top Rd and Cochran Rd. The fire quickly moved into timber, due to higher winds and heavy fuels, growing to 7-10 acres. This prompted a call for two airtankers for support. Water drops proceeded for several hours, as hand crews and dozers worked to line the fire. Crews are staying on scene to work through the night to contain this fire.
